Deploy your first site

This guide takes you from an empty account to a live site in about five minutes, using either Git or SFTP. Everything here also works from the panel if you'd rather click than type.

Prerequisites

  • A Mirahost account — the 14-day trial works for this guide
  • A site to deploy: a Git repository or a folder of files
  • Optional: a domain you control (a *.mirahost.site subdomain is included)

1 · Create the site

In the panel, choose New site and pick a runtime. Mirahost provisions the container, a database if you want one, and a temporary URL.

panel → New site
Runtime: PHP 8.4 (also: Node 22, Python 3.12, static)
Database: MySQL 8 · created & linked automatically
✓ ready https://acme-studio.mirahost.site

2a · Deploy with Git

Add the Mirahost remote shown on your site's Deploys tab, then push. The build log streams in the panel and in your terminal.

terminal
$ git remote add mirahost git@mirahost.com:acme-studio.git
$ git push mirahost main
→ build detected wordpress 6.7 · php 8.4
→ image built in 34s · cached layers 7/8
✓ live deploy_a41f · rollback point saved

2b · Deploy with SFTP

Prefer an FTP client? Use the credentials on the Access tab. When your session ends, Mirahost snapshots the changes as a deploy — same versioning, same rollbacks.

connection details
host sftp.mirahost.com
user acme-studio
auth SSH key (password auth available, key recommended)
path /site → your web root
ⓘ

SFTP uploads and Git pushes can be mixed freely on the same site — each becomes its own deploy in the history, attributed to whoever made it.

3 · Point your domain

Add the domain on the Domains tab and set the records below with your registrar. SSL issues automatically within a minute of DNS resolving.
